I have mixed feelings about this book. It started so strong but lost a bit off the momentum somewhere in the middle. I think my main problem was Carter. I just could not connect to her. Especially with reading how much Locke has changed when he found out that he was a father and she kept undermining his progression.

All he kept doing was showing her that he wasn't a playboy she knew him as. I loved how much he invested himself into building a relationship with Lily and his efforts to make Carter finally see him worthy of her. Even though I think she should have been trying her damn hardest to make him see her worthy of his and his daughter's love.

As a start to the series this was not a great read but it was good. I’m sorry to say but I have to give a 3,75* to this book. But I have a feeling that my liking of the series will improve with the next book. I can't wait to see what happens next with Ben and Astor.
