I guess the problem for me with this book was I read it immediately after reading Before I Fall. Now that book was brilliant. Delirium, not so much. The novel is set in a dystopian America where love is considered as a disease know as Amor Deliria Nervosa. and when you reach 18, you receive a 'cure' which supposedly cures love. and gets rid of every other emotions or memories you might have. I guess I just had a hard time imagining a world where love doesn't exist. Even the basic instinct of love for one's children. The book even mentioned that there were cases where mothers strangles their child to death. But we get assured that it 'rarely' happens. Anyway, I wasnt invested with the characters that much. I even liked Hana more than I liked Lena. And Grace. I think she's an integral part of the story. And I hated the ending. I mean i know that it has a sequel (God knows how long the series will be) but I like books that could stand up on its own even if its part of a series.
