I don't know much about what Miekal is doing these days except that I'm sure he's pretty internet active. This bklt is from a time when I'm sure he was feeling inspired. I've wondered who "Amendant Hardiker" was - that name has been given credit for font design in other bks by And. I thought it might be an alter-ego of And's, maybe it was an alter-ego of Liz Was's, maybe it's the name of someone else. Each page of this gets smaller until it reaches the middle & then they grow larger again. Just that alone is a nice enuf touch that wd've complicated collating & that makes me appreciate the care that went into this. Add to that the neologisms & the generally imaginative content & the result is one of my favorites from Miekal. Take, eg, the section entitled "Inner Noisversation" - an imaginary dialog between Italian Futurist & noise-music pioneer Luigi Russolo & American 'Futurist' composer George Antheil (the creator of the phenomenal "Ballet Mechanique"). I doubt that either of them spoke this way (I've read Antheil's autobiography "Bad Boy of Music" & he's a fairly generic writer) but I like that And puts these words in their fictive mouths:

"Russolo: Accumulating a philosophy of noise that doesnt idolize monotony & boredom approaches a radical response to the imitation of industrial culture. One could only await the construction of noise neologue, perhaps akin to the contrivance of Webern's 12 tone endless permutations....

Antheil: A bomb of discrete sounds evasively amplified & implanted out of sight in parks, bus stops, hallways, highway rest areas & any non-implemented public arena would access the global soundscape to masses of the unsuspecting."
