In this book Alex Cross proves once again to be a little more than a mere human. The big bad from the first book of the series is back and he's looking for a little retribution. Also there is another case of an international serial killer that the FBI wants Alex to consult on. About halfway through another agent takes over the narration for a big chunk of the book. The Alex is back and ready to kick butt again. Meanwhile in his personal life, Alex is falling for the principal big time.

Here's the thing- this book was good, lots of good stuff happens, but it feels really disjointed. The whole Gary storyline plays out and completes about halfway through and I spent the rest of the book waiting for something else to happen. The the big twist that comes is something I suspected, but never could figure out the logistics and they never quite got explained.

I've laready got the next book, but after that it may be time to take a break from the series.
