The Outsider

I'm fairly honest about my feelings for Stephen King's work. For me, it is very hit or miss, especially as I feel like King writes 10 words that could be done just as well in 2. That being said, I keep trying them? Part of me wonders if it's just to prove to myself I'm weird for not liking his work.
This book has set in my Scribd account since it was published. I have dragged my feet due to the reasons above, obviously. And I'm glad to be pleasantly surprised by it. There are still aspects of his writing I strongly dislike - the need to not only murder but brutally mutilate and rape kids, the use of an unintelligent salt of the earth man to be an accomplice to evil, and in this book, the clear placing it in Trump's America.
Overall though, I rather enjoyed this book. The evil creature is well done and reminded me (in a good way) of IT.
