Binti (Binti, #1)

I absolutely loved this book. Binti is a wonderful character, and I enjoyed getting immersed in the culture of the Himba. For me, the drive of Binti to attend Oomza University against the usual traditions of her people made me really get into this book. It kept me flipping the pages to find out what happened next.
I also liked the tense conflict that occurs on her stellar journey. My only "complaint" is that the book (but, yes, it's a novella) didn't extend long enough to really explore the ramifications of what happened after all that drama.
A beautiful and exciting read featuring a much-needed diverse voice!
