I found more to admire than fully enjoy in reading this short, somewhat truncated work. I continue to find the world Okarafor created to be intriguing, but something in her approach to telling Binti’s story just misses the mark of fully connecting me to her confusion, emotional reactions, and sense of self-discovery.

Dawn C Welcome back, Anthony! And yes, that’s how I felt too. Her world is vast and interesting but Binti’s personal journey kinda left me behind a bit.

Mareike I still wish the book were longer and she'd taken more time to explore Binti's world and her emotional state.

Dawn C The middle novella especially felt very much like a middle, with no real beginning or ending. An odd choice from the editor.
