I can remember being in elementary school and seeing Westworld on tv and thinking that this was really cool. Then in high school, I started devouring Crichton's novels (terminal man, andromeda strain, eaters of the dead). Then, of course, he became very popular with Jurassic Park. I still read anything he published, but never quite was enthralled like I was when I was younger. I did think Prey had some brilliant ideas.
So, getting to Micro, I enjoyed it because it somewhat captured the kid in me with its tale out of an old 50s monster movie. It's not perfect. The characters are stock. At times, it is incredibly silly, but it had its moments and I would definitely see a film adaptation of it.
