Half Broke Horses
Dec 27, 2011
Many people view this book as a step down from The Glass Castle, but I simply think its a different story that, to some people, don't provide the same kind of lure and interest. For one thing, much less dysfunctional things happen (which may be one thing that draws attention away from previous Glass Castle audience), but that does not mean it is not amazing. This is a different kind of story, one that, still written by the wonderful prose of Jeannette Walls, unravels a very admirable figure whose astounding experiences in life are shaped so spectacularly by Ms. Wall's writing. In my opinion, I was still hooked, even though it did need a bit of getting used to, since it has an entirely different setting.
