it was ok

Being vague and obtuse and including swirly words and pictures just seems like so much filler in what is essentially a very simple story. Not for me.

David Schaafsma I see your point, and I would suggest reading nothing else from him, then, since it is all pretty similar, except March is admirable.

Rod Brown I've already read a lot of his stuff and was not impressed by anything until I read March, which had a different writer of course. I think I went into this believing something from that experience might have rubbed off onto his solo work...

David Schaafsma Yeah, he's right back into his personal obsessions. The one I like best is Swallow Me Whole because the story is better, and because is about schizophrenia; he worked with kids like that for years and it feels deeply personal; then I have a kid with something like this, so that's my angle for connecting to it.
