This was a fun book to read, because of all the name dropping and bed hopping. Were any of the titled classes in England faithful to their spouses? Not according to this book. Apparently parenthood wasn't given too much importance, either. Written by the great-granddaughter of Idina Sackville, who was married 5 times in an era when even 1 divorce was a scandal, she treats her subject with respect and understanding. Well researched and skillfully written.

Beverly Eury I will definitely add this one to my must reads!

Diane Barnes Beverly, my Southport book club is reading this one for the March meeting. It is really fun to read and there's a lot of name-dropping. We read Catherine the Great in January and really liked it, too. I don't get to many of the monthly meetings, but I always try to read the book. Looks like we have a lot of the same tastes in books.
