really liked it
bookshelves: 2011, horror, classics, short-stories
Read in December, 2011

The only story that isn't technically horror is The Room in the Dragon Volant. Green Tea, The Familiar and Mr Justice Harbottle pretend to be psychological horror, but are actually paranormal horror, and share similar tropes. The medical BSing made me facepalm many a time. Might be: (view spoiler)

If the stories are rated individually:
Green Tea: 4/5
The Familiar: 3/5
Mr. Justice Harbottle: 3/5
The Room in the Dragon Volant: 5/5
Carmilla: 5/5

Emily I'm with you, I think the stories got bette as the book went along. Although I couldn't stand the incredible stupidity of Beckett in "Dragon Volant" or Laura in "Carmilla". Still, they were good stories all in all.
