The Jetsons must've been Lee Warren's band in Tampa before he moved to Baltimore. Then he had a band called N.E.M.B. (Non-Erotic Male Bonding). From there he went to New York City where he had yet-another band called King of Culture. Lee's other name is "Some Queer". Ro Malone, of the Merzaum Collective & Lee's sister, might've helped lay this out. The time is 1980 & the Jetsons were already "post new wave". The song "Microbes" begins:

"microbes rushing out at me
oppressed anxiety
please don't touch me (no offense, but)
you've got something and i don't want it"

All of Lee's bands are excellent examples of how 'arbitrary' popularity can be. In other words, N.E.M.B. & King of Culture (& probably Jetsons too) were just as pop as any pop group but somehow they never became popular.
