it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-romance-novels, best-romance-novels, favorites

Funny, witty, snappy writing, complete with callbacks and overarching themes. Love the characters. Loved how Sophia (the next novel's heroine) was introduced as this Heroine's "enemy," but ended but being utterly human and adorable. I liked how both the Hero and the Heroine had things to work through. Though it did have those "Why won't you just TALK to each other and tell the other what your problem is?!" moments, the reason why the two had a error of communication made sense.

Loved the beginning. Love how we were introduced to the two of them. Loved that they didn't really like each other, and I loved how the relationship evolved. It wasn't a sudden "Oh my god. I love her!" kind of a thing (which, I'll admit, has its place). This one was very gradual and well-done.

This is a solid, funny, heartwarming romance novel. Pick it up, people!

I, for my part, will be reading everything else Tessa Dare has done.
