I was never a Nancy drew fan. Or basically any mystery show. It just wasn't my type. So when I saw this, I didn't bother with it. I knew I would be disappointed and constantly bored. I don't know why I picked this book up,  I don't know if it was out of sheer curiosity, or I just liked the cover. But I don't regret it one bit. As I mentioned before, I hated Nancy drew. Deadly cool was NOTHING like nancy drew. Deadly Cool was hilarious and suspending, it was shocking and investing the whole time. It had an amazing female lead. Hartley made everything entertaining.

I loved how it was traditionally like a mystery but with added wits. It had detectives, suspects, and consequences. But it also had romance, which mystery shows usually don't have, it was funny, and it was in a cool, normal, teenager filled environment. This makes it all more fun and realistic.  Deadly cool was a great starter to what I can already tell is a great series.
