DS Ray Paterson is back to work after a temporary suspension. With him is recently promoted DI Johnny Clocks. The two men have not been friends, but their working relationship is finally starting to gel.

Being called to investigate the shooting of a man outside a dubious church leads them to the discovery of another body .. that of a young child.

Paterson and Clocks must hunt down a ruthless killer with connections that go far beyond anything they’ve ever come across before.

This is an excellent follow-up to THEIR LAST WORDS. While this can easily be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend starting at the beginning of this thrilling crime series.

The characters are solid, well-written. The differences between the two detectives works so well .. they are so much alike ... but yet are miles apart in others. They are terrific crime solvers and will do most anything to bring justice to the victims and their families.

The crime herein is shocking. The credibility is due to the author's background in law enforcement. I look forward to future additions to this series.

Many thanks to the author / Joffe Books / Negalley / Books n All Promotions / Jill Burkinshaw for the advanced copy of this crime thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
