really liked it

As far as Dexter books go this one was middle of the road. It took a little while to get going, but once it did, it was pretty exciting. My biggest beef is that Dexter isn't really Dexter anymore, mostly due to the TV show, but also because he has become, only due to his legend apparently, a shadow of himself. The narration is still funny, but the killings have become a tad redundant, or just flat out messy. The first killing in this book is stellar, but then the hammer murderer comes into play... and is resolved way too quickly... then Dexter's shadow comes into play, and that is just kind of lame and boring. There should have been a big showdown, or some sort of battle that was one for the ages. This could have been a 5 star book, but I just think that Lindsay is losing the Dexter battle to Showtime. However, even the show is losing steam. There needs to be a Dexter revitalization. I'll keep coming back for more, but there needs to be a surge.

Heather I was bored by this book and the Deb having a crush on Dexter in the show is just creepy.
