Interesting but not amazing. I'm not a big mystery genre fan (with the huge exception of Sherlock Holmes) so may be that's why I didn't like it more. Like Lisa said, a nice feature of this book is that one can learn a bit about Botswana. And also its portrayal of a woman in a profession traditionally reserved for men only. As for the plot itself, the main character solves some "mysteries," some more interesting than others. A solid 3 stars for whatever that's worth.

Lisa Vegan Bobby, I never ended up reading any more books in this series. I did read the first book in his other series that takes place in Scotland, with another female protagonist, and I liked that book a bit more. (Most people like the Botswana series the best.) I might read more books in the Scotland series, but I'm not recommending those books to you. They're not like Sherlock Holmes at all.
