it was amazing

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. I'm not sure why it isn't typically classified as gay fiction. It's certainly got a lot of queerness in it for its time. A sad but satisfying read.

Lou Harper How does it compare to the movie?

Marshall Thornton They're very similar. The movie changed the backstory a little and made it kind of homophobic IMO. Which is odd because the director was gay... but those were the times. They also took out references to his having male tricks as well as female. Other than that it tracks pretty closely.

Lou Harper I know what you mean about homophobic. It wasn't overplayed at least. I might have to read this.
