liked it

3.5 stars. In the beginning this book was okay, but not great. When I reached the half of the book I began to like the characters more and the story really came alive for me then. I really liked the bachground and history of the characters, but also the magical creatures of this world. In this world there are different creatures then what we normally get. There are skinwalkers, nightwalkers, stormwalkers. I really enjoyed reading about the magic in this world and the links with the Indians (but maybe that's because of my interest in American history). The story was okay, not great, but mostly the characters and the magic made this a good book for me. Janet is a strong women, that also has a few weaknesses, we really get to know her and even a bit of her background, family ties etc. I also like most of the side characters, we get to know just enough of them to make them come alive and made me like them. This book also contains some sex, but luckily it is not the main focus. The story and world is really original and I like to see how the story continues.
To conclude a good read, that's a bit slow in the beginning. I really liked the characters and the way magic is described. I will be reading the next books in this series.
