it was amazing

I greatly enjoyed this one. The segments of the book dealing with the chase for Eduard Salgado-MacKenzie are breathtaking in their suspense and deep immersion. The Sertôrian stories themselves are more challenging; frankly, I don't know what the characters see in them, but I wonder if that's the point - that the chase is more important than the object, that the promise of an infinite future is more fulfilling than the arrival of a bounded future. Excellent reading experience, though - Wirkus is a writer to follow, rightly compared to Chabon and Lethem. If he can sustain the energy of the 200-page translator's note, that'll be a real spectacle of a novel.
