Quotes Mackenzi Liked

Andrew Sean Greer
“Strange to be almost fifty, no? I feel like I just understood how to be young."
"Yes! It's like the last day in a foreign country. You finally figure out where to get coffee, and drinks, and a good steak. And then you have to leave. And you won't ever be back.”

Peter I enjoyed the unique way Greer wrote his character, keeping narrative distance until he let us into Less’ life more and more as we progressed. The n at the end, the narrator jumps through the page, tells you he is Freddy, and that this novel is a love letter to Arthur Less. Poignant ending.

Richard Benitez I don’t know why you would. Novel totally annoyed my that at a critical time , Arthur could go from city to city and walk through like a zombie and be pushed around by everything and everyone and without much comment or complaint. Awful to read.
