** spoiler alert ** This work had a profound underlying meaning to me. It shows how one simple grain of "doubt" can ruin an individual's life. How we can be on a path towards righteousness and deviate from it. The story focuses heavily on a head nun who believes that one of the priests of the congregation she is in charge of is having illicit feelings towards a young boy of the Catholic school. This originally is a play that was made into a movie. The play is more minimalistic in nature than the movie. Reading the play and then watching the movie will give you a good background into the beauty that is this story. I read this book for my Theater 100 class for the Fall 2011 semester at Ball State University.
