really liked it

Latest (for me) in the continuing fun story of The Burg and its equally fun characters. Couple ones are introduced; an exhibitionist who goes to work for Vinnie as a file clerk, and a new female bounty hunter with a mysterious past (the scenes of interviewing possible candidates for the mob are pretty hilarious and easy to imagine). This book mostly describes how a woman claiming to be Ranger's ex threatens Stephanie; turns out Ranger DOES have an ex and a child, and there's someone out there posing as Ranger, and some of the description is pretty harrowing, especially from the child's point of view. Mostly, however, it's the usual fun with the usual wacky bunch (Grandma Mazur joining Lula and Sally Sweet in their rock/punk band is pretty much fun). Joe and Ranger, per usual, exchange macho/protectiveness/competition-with-mutual-respect, and Stephanie remains confused about whiich one she'll end up with; in an interview at the end of this audiobook (narrated by Lorelei King, wonderful as usual), Ms. Evanovich implies that she might match up Stephanie with either one, but ONLY if the series ever comes to an end. so get ready for more sexual tension in the Burg!
