really liked it

I've read so many mixed reviews about this book and people either love it or hate it. I really liked the book. I couldn't put it down. So many things spoke to me: the intellectual studies, the relationships, the manic-depression (not that I've experienced that...), the character development. But this is the first Eugenides I've read. I'm looking forward to reading Middlesex and The Virgin Suicides. Some people think they are better than this one. Middlesex was the Pulitzer Prize winner. He's definitely a gifted writer. I haven't cried at the end of a book for a long time but it happened with this one. It's been written about this book that its content compares (in modern day) to the "marriage plots" of the great writers such as Bronte, Elliot, Wharton, and Austen--I agree.
