it was amazing
bookshelves: dark-and-gritty, contemporary, emotional-pain, perfect-endings, read-in-2018, wow, 5-stars

This book was gorgeous and heartbreaking, and it absolutely blew me away.

I really don't know how to review this book. In part because I really can't speak on the rep, and in part because this book was just too beautiful.

Starfish was such a powerful book. It was so raw and painful and real.
I loved Kiko, and my heart ached for her.

Also the WRITING. The writing was fantastic, and I adored it. Plus the descriptions of the art were gorgeous and so, so powerful.

I really, really don't know what to say about this book. Read it. That's all I've got. Read this gorgeous, powerful book.

Trigger Warnings: Parental abuse (emotional and verbal), sexual abuse, racism, attempted suicide.
