Disappointing—it doesn't fulfill the promise of either the book title, the elegant cover or the title of the introduction, "On the Erotics of Literary Style." I was hoping to find some useful application to larger questions of queer(ed) writing, but it's mostly just a close reading of James's writing (fiction and otherwise) that's so specific as to not have much immediate application outside of James's own texts.
