For those who have seen the two movies, the book is much more like the more recent one with Johnny Depp ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") than the classic family flick from the 70's ("Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"). It's kinda kooky, a little creepy at times, weird but sometimes funny. It's a nice little story about some very bizarre characters. I don't think it is as great of a story as it's popular status would indicate (popularity I associate more with the iconic film than the actual book(. Still, it's not bad.
