[3.4] A hunting accident starts a violent chain of events. I can't say I enjoyed this novel - but it did capture my attention and didn't let go. Spending time inside the head of the raging, broken and crazed Dwayne Brewer wasn't fun. I felt like I was on a roller coaster - but one of those roller coasters that just gets too scary and make you feel like you are about to be sick. So even though my stomach is a bit too weak to fully appreciate this thrilling novel - it was quite an experience. And David Joy knows how to write!

Mrtruscott Love the roller coaster analogy, Lisa. Great review. Given my tastes, I’d probably like this (dark violent) book, but it’s good to be forewarned.

Lisa Yes, you might like it - it is well-written and quite gripping.
