The book presents itself to be a work of historical fiction, however, it is way more fiction set in a place assumed to be the actual place of the families of Romeo and Juliet. The small bits of history were intriguing, however, very few.

The story in general, set in modern day Siena, is a bit cheesy and kind of comes off as a romance story. There are some twists and turns, but nothing that make you shocked because you did not see it coming.

It is a pleasant read, entertaining, but no real meat to it.
