it was amazing

I had thoroughly enjoyed the two volumes that preceded this in the series by Elizabeth Edmondson (A Man of Some Repute and A Question of Inheritance). Alas, this volume will be the last from that author; she passed away, and this book was completed by her son. What I liked about all three books, outside of the mystery, were the characters, especially Hugo (ex-spy) and his young sister Georgia (who had survived in a collapsed building during the Blitz, and whose parents were both dead); and Freya, a clandestine writer of bodice-rippers pretending to be researching family history; her reprehensible sister Sonia; and everyone else who appears in these stories. I regret extremely knowing that there will be no more in this set of mystery novels.
