it was amazing
bookshelves: horror-supernatural, adult-books

I read this book in the 9th grade and loved how the central characters were a bunch of child misfits who called themselves The Losers Club. I found the idea that adolescents could be more aware of supernatural threats than adults incredibly empowering. The story, although it centered around an ancient supernatural evil, illuminates the capability of humans for both unspeakable apathy and cruelty. But, this is balanced because the main characters are united by a benevolent force that is fighting for the triumph of good. The book is well over 1000 pages, but worth the effort if you are a King fan or enjoy complex narratives of good vs. evil.
