it was amazing
bookshelves: 2018-books-read, historical-christian-romance

I just finished this book and I am thoroughly impressed by this debut. Easily one of my favorite reads this year, I know this book will stay with me. I didn't want the story to end. I didn't want to leave the world of these characters. They were so real and their stories so compelling, I never wanted to stop reading. This is the first book in ages to not just make me tear up, but actually make me straight out cry. Like, wiping tears from my cheeks crying. First, they were sad tears, but later happy ones. To be fair, the topic of this story is near and dear to my heart, but the story itself was so well done, I forgot to put on my writerly hat and just got caught up in the story. I can't even try to pick it apart now. The after-story-glow is still too strong and my brain just won't go there. So I can't give my usual more analytical review. Just trust me on this one. Buy it. Read it. Thank me later.

p.s. For the record, this is a book I purchased on my own, for myself.
