Not very happy with this one, mainly because it's "anglo-centric" and not very cohesive. Book consists of a patchwork of chapters about the longships, history of Viking raids (mainly dedicated to events in Britain and England, with Clontarf and Stirling Bridge covered in any detail), tactics used during the raids and and special sections dedicated to oddities such as berserkers, Jomsvikings and background of raven banner. While the information in the book is of some interest, it's rather generic. Far from the best of Osprey's, the only reason I can see why one would want to get it are the illustrations of Andy McBride.
