really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fiction, middle-grade

This engaging and highly fictionalized (mature) MG story explores slavery from the perspectives of children and opens the door for many thought provoking discussions.

Sassa Highly fictionalized. Hmmm. Love your blog, Carol.

Carol (Reading Ladies) Thanks for your kind word Sasha! I put “highly fictionalized“ because I don’t think we have a lot of documentation or many primary source documents relating to Sally H. I felt like it was lots of speculation...but still an engaging and insightful story!
