it was amazing
bookshelves: favorites, best-non-fiction-ever

Hitchens was by far the best writer of the current crop of atheists. He's not a scientist, and that's to his benefit. As a result, his sentences are often moving and beautiful, in the best tradition of literature and philosophy.

True, any book about religion in general is going to have generalizations. But he makes his arguments cogently, searching through history, and many of his points -- and his phrases -- will stick with you.

Don't let the provocative title put you off. This is a non-fic classic.
