it was amazing
bookshelves: for-school, classic-lit, laughs-and-giggles

This is my second favorite Jane Austen book (Pride and Prejudice is my favorite). I really enjoyed this cast of characters (I didn't even hate the annoying ones like I have other characters like Emma Woodhouse) and the plot (which was entertaining and the perfect length). I can get a sense of why many consider this to truly be her best and most mature book (and if I didn't love the characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy so much, this would probably be my favorite book as well).

“My idea of good company...is the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.'
'You are mistaken,' said he gently, 'that is not good company, that is the best.”
Jane Austen, Persuasion

Jane Austen
“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.”
