really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction, stories, bloody-brilliant, humor

My favorite of all Chuck's books. This is a collection of essays and former magazine articles about some of the most seemingly inane aspects of modern pop culture. I mean the guy writes an entire essay deconstructing "Saved by the Bell" for crying out loud. And yet for as ridiculous as it may seem to be waxing eloquent about some of the most dubious things in our modern society (Pamela Anderson, The Real World and youth soccer to name just a few) Chuck does this with an almost eerie perceptiveness into the mindset of our society and our generation. It's a funny, quirky, neurotic, insightful and ultimately easy and entertaining read.
