it was amazing

Wow, this was so good. As in can't-put-it-down-at-all-good, which was sort of a problem as it's a huge book. I've been wanting to read Stephen King for a while - every writing book refers to him as the King of Plot - but the problem is that I have no interest in horror/gore. (Watching The Shining years ago was enough to convince me that any of his horror books would prevent me from ever sleeping again.) But then I saw that 11/22/63 was listed in the NY Times as one of the top 10 fiction books of the year, and it wasn't defined as a "horror" book. So I picked it up and now I see why he's written about in every book about writing. It's definitely creepy around the edges and it did give me some nightmares, but the book is about a man who goes back in time, hoping to prevent Kennedy from being shot, and it's a fascinating look at time, history and the Mad Men era. Well-written page-turners seem to be few and far between. You won't be able to put this one down.
