I was a fan of Trainspotting, so I thought I would pick this up and see if I could satisfy my need for imagery which would make my skin crawl. This book did not disappoint, which is both a good and bad thing. Welsh is able to create some truly stomach wrenching tales that will make you say numerous time, "O Damn!" and "Wow, that sucks!" But other than the shock value, little lies beneath the surface. Fans of Chuck Palahniuk will enjoy his work, but I find Palahniuk's writing style better.
