When Christina Haag first met JFK jr. they were both teenagers and hung out with the same group of kids who were students at the private schools they attended in New York City. She thought he was fun and they became close friends. It wasn’t until they became adults did they develop a mutual attraction for one another which led to a five year relationship. As a couple, they traveled the world together and dreamed about the future. He nicknamed her Puppy and she nicknamed him King. But their careers would lead them in different directions and the distance would put a strain on their relationship. Timing is what would break them up in December 1990. Despite this, JFK jr. would always consider Christina his compass and told her that he would feel lost without her but the reality was that HE was her compass. In this memoir, the author shares her memories of JFK jr. and the years they spent together.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. The author reveals that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer so I found it fitting that she would be nostalgic during her illness and write a memoir about her relationship with John, someone who meant a lot to her. John was the kind of person who gave her Couragio (courage) to move forward and keep going. By reflecting on her life with him, I’m sure she felt that he was there with her in some small way.
