** spoiler alert ** Basically, Hunger-Games-alike without the blood and guts, but a bit like Wither too, only happier and less intense. Not at all original.

The character names are beyond TERRIBLE. America Singer? Is she...a sewing machine? Maxon? Umm...I'm coming up with very, very few flattering ways to pronounce this one. In my head: MAY-zahn. FFS, really?

The only redeeming part of the book is the way AS educates the prince about suffering. That's always nice to slip into loafer light YA fare. For the kiddies, you know?

The oh!noes! sex attitude of the book is sadly outdated.

Overall, not that enjoyable, even though it included a lot of things I usually like in a YA novel (non-bitch female protagonist, vaguely dystopian, etc). May skip the next one. Meh...
