did not like it
bookshelves: unfinished-books

I got to page 265 and had to stop. This is the sequel to a book I haven't read. Dammit!
I was wondering why I found it so hard to care about the characters.
However, I'm still genuinely disappointed. I wanted so much to be blown away by this book.
Exploration of sexuality? Sounds like my kind of read. But the text is dense and messy. The plot is mild and uninteresting. The characters are mediocre and unsatisfying. I couldn't continue for another 300 pages...

Stuart My very elederly English teacher knew Lawrence! He couldn't stand him and detested his writings. His writing is febrile at best and bloody awful in John Thomas and Lady Jane. Don't waste your time!
