Read 2 times. Last read October 2018.

This was a very personal and candid memoir by a woman one would think had it all, but never really did, and is a revealing look at a talented yet mostly damaged woman whose self-worth wasn't fully realized until late in life. Parts of this were painful to read (and I'm sure painful for her to have written) and my heart ached for the horrible childhood experiences and her fractured relationship with her mother.

Added note 10-7-28: I meant to add that I took off one star for the fact that she glossed over or completely omitted parts of her life and dwelled a little too long on others, but since it's her memoir, I guess that's her prerogative.

I read this in print format but listening to the author read it would make it much more effective.
