really liked it

This book made me want to go back and re-read all the Jane Austen novels. Syrie James really did a very good job writing in the style of Jane Austen and making the reader believe the story was "real". And maybe if we believe it is, that makes it so. The plot twists and the relationships presented were so familiar when compared with Austen's novels. No happy ending really - but "reality" doesn't always end up happy. Still I enjoyed reading on to see how it would all come out between Jane and "Mr. Ashford" and I especially liked being introduced to the whole Austen family and reminded of the mores of that time period. The book made me want to visit England as well.
