The authors purpose in writing the book was to give people better understanding on how to re-think situations and calmly get out of a unwanted moment.
The theme of this book was do not freakout over the small things, if you calm down and work your way through a situation it will turn out better. The author put this theme in many chapters through the book, each chapter pertained to a different subject, for example one chapter is about croad rage, the author Richard Carlson explains how to calm down when you are driving.
This book was an expostion, the author wrote this book to explain a certain topic and to persuade the reader. The author wanted the readers to understand that calming down in a bad situation and work your way through it.
In my opinion i liked this book, it really put things in perspective for me about life and people,if people took just a couple seconds everytime they felt angry and just calmed down, things in life would go alot smoother.
