The target audience for this book is actually young adults, but I loved it too. The plucky nature of Coraline is the best feature of the book and the main lesson I'm sure. The way she grows from a bored but inquisitive kid to a determined girl-on-a-mission is a journey I'd wish for everyone to witness. The ending is something special - the sense of completion, both for the reader as well as for Coraline. Oh and yes, I loved the cat as well :)
