Picked this up as I was hooked on the HBO TV series of the same name at the time. Very interesting stuff, and very surprising to see how much of what I'd already seen in the show had actually happened. It's also greatly informative when it comes to explaining just how this small clique of Republican politicians ran such an extensive racket in a town bought and paid for by themselves.

If I have a criticism it's that the book's tone was very dry and matter-of-fact. But, hey, it's a historical book, not a novel.
