it was amazing

I've heard many good things about this novel, so I had to check it out for myself. It definitely lives up to the hype, and even exceeds it. How to Walk Away was incredible from start to finish. It held my attention the entire time. I read 200 pages in one day and then finished it in two-and-a-half days. I could not put it down and it has easily landed a spot on my 2018 favorites list.

It was hard to imagine being in Margaret's situation. I really cared about her the entire time and wanted to see her "win." There were a lot of interesting situations and moments throughout the story, as well as scenes that made me smile or sometimes cringe. The dialogue and relationships between characters was strong throughout the story and I enjoyed the various dynamics.

My only concerns were very minor and in no way impacted my enjoyment. First was that it was hard to hear a Scottish accent in my head (which one of the characters has), but that's my own fault for not listening to the audio version. There was a lot of medical terminology used during the story that I had difficulty understanding. Even though the story tied up neatly at the end, I was happy to see that happen.

Overall, I loved this novel and can't recommend it enough!

Movie casting suggestions:
Margaret: Shailene Woodley
Kitty: Tina Majorino
Chip: Brett Dier
Ian: Billy Magnussen
Linda: Embeth Davidtz
Myles: Rafe Spall
