I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS BOOK! This was so intense that I started to think that maybe it really could happen. If it did, would I be able to protect my family, or would I be one of the many that died? Should I start stockpiling canned vegetables? Should I make sure that I have a non-electric can opener? I found the whole thing so fascinating that it really was hard to put down.

The main character, Miranda, is your typical teen. She wants to be able to do what she wants, when she wants. She gets mad at her mom when she doesn't get her way. She dreams about going to the prom with a nice guy.

Then an asteroid hits the moon and changes everything...

Miranda is forced to grow up so quickly, but not in an unrealistic way. Just a very sad way, because there's nothing that she can do to change it.

This is a really good read for teens and adults alike! In fact, I just gave it to my mom to read. :)

Jackie This book is so good. The author's description of the catastrophic event makes you feel as though you are living it. I can't wait to read the companion book, THE DEAD AND THE GONE.

Cathy oooh. I just added The Dead and the Gone. That one sounds really good! Yippee!
